Business model
Fynka is free for farmers. To keep it that way and ensure long-term sustainability, we provide valuable and personalized insights to our clients and partners, such as NGOs, agribusinesses, government agencies and financial institutions, who use the data for example to design, monitor, and evaluate their programs.
Collecting data
We securely store all users’ data on servers located in Switzerland. Data is collected through Fynka to ensure the smooth functioning of the app and to improve the user experience. In particular, we collect data in order to:
Synchronise application status across devices and usage contexts, including between family members and between offline and online sessions so information stays consistent and up to date for all users.
Provide a reliable backup, in case a mobile phone is lost, damaged, or replaced, ensuring no important information is lost.
Data sharing
The data we collect helps us generate useful insights that we can share with our clients and partners to inform decision-making and improve outcomes. Data may be shared in three diffrent forms:

Once users accept our Privacy Policy and EULA, their data is anonymized and, by default, shared with clients via a dashboard or reports.

Through a dedicated interface within the app, we collect users explicit consent and ensure that all shared data is pseudonymized in compliance with data protection standards. Pseudonymization means replacing personally identifiable information, such as names or phone numbers, with coded identifiers.

In specific cases, such as microcredit applications or compliance with traceability requirements under the EUDR, non-anonymised data (e.g., GPS farm polygons or identifiable financial profiles) may need to be shared. This is done only with the user's explicit consent, which is obtained through a dedicated interface within the app.
